OM rectified the head this Sunday in D1 championship, winning widely at AS Muret's ground (0-5). A success acquired in fine style, and with a duo on fire: Pauline Cousin-Alicia Pourquiès.

They did it. After their inaugural and frustrating defeat in Toulouse (1-3) the Olympians were expected to challenge the record straight as soon as possible. As soon as this Sunday in Muret. After a weekend spent on site and marked by its equally studious as cheerful character, the light turned green. OM stifled the home side right from the start, leading 2-0 after already fifteen minutes...

A Brace for Pauline Cousin...

Only 8 minutes played when Camille Perrin intercepts a ball in her half and up to the center circle. The ball goes to Hadia Ben Abdelghani who passes it in one-touch play to Alicia Pourquiès, in front of her and back to Muret posts, 35 meters from the cage. The Olympian number 10 controls left, pivots, and with the same foot sends a luminous deep pass to Pauline Cousin between two Murétaines players. The small center forward turns on the booster, leaving behind her opponents, enters the penalty area and, anticipating the goalie's outing, slides the ball into the net... A well done job, and 1-0...

OM is close to double the lead some moments later on a corner kick, but Muret emerges after a slight scramble... The second goal comes in the 16'... Léa Rubio, 25 meters to Muret's line, passes to Pourquiès on the right. The latter sends a cross slightly crushed and bouncing, before being half-volleyed by Pauline Cousin at the near post... 2-0 ... The Olympians play well and fast, in first intention. Arnaud, the GK of Muret, must intervene several times, on a long shot from Pourquiès and into the feet of Vallet, well initiated by Ben Abdelghani... For their part, the locals have a great opportunity to reduce the score, but the young Olympian goalie Anaïs Hatchi shows off her talent and horizontal spring denying superbly the ball, before matching it again on the second shoot at the foot of her post ... Half-time comes on that logical score, 2-0...

... then a hat-trick with a somptuous free-kick

OM masters its subject, in the second period as in the first. Just before the hour mark, the Olympians get a free-kick, slightly off-center at 25 meters on the right. While Rubio flies to the wing, Pourquiès plays the ball for Ben Abdelghani standing in the arc of a circle. She deflects without control to... Rubio who had continued her eccentric run and immediately sends a calibrated cross as straight as a die. Cousin pops up at the near post, beating Arnaud and sending the leather into the net ! Great art ! (58', 0-3). And a hat-trick in passing for the former U17 World Champion...

Alicia, scorer in D2 !

Less than 10 minutes later, young Tess Laplacette (15 y.o.) plays a trick with her opponent on the right wing, enters the penalty area and sends a lateral cross. Vallet, back to the posts, deflects the ball behind to Pizzala whose shot is denied by the keeper. Alicia Pourquiès is the quickest for slipping the ball into the cage, scoring her first goal in D2, an event for she who had already registered 122 goals in 83 matches (all competitions) since the inception of the women's section (66', 0-4) ... Tall Alicia will even score a brace in injury time. Léa Rubio passes to Pauline Cousin in the movement and in the 16 meters. The striker heels cleverly to Pourquiès who, free from marking and up the penalty box, opened quietly her left foot... (91', 0-5).

The Olympians bring a clear and flawless victory back from their second straight trip to the Midi-Pyrenees. With no rush to conclusions that would be as dangerous as stupid, we can assume that OM is on the rails now and launched its season. But as we know, every good performance - and this is one with no doubt - called confirmation. We'll therefore await with confidence but caution on Sunday on the occasion of the first home game of the season. The opponent ? Aurillac-Arpajon. Who just beat Toulouse (2-1). All the more reason to keep feet on the ground. And continue working. In serenity.
